we arrived at Denhams ground in good time to receive a warm welcome on a fine day.

The match got under way with Tamsin and Carmen both in central defence, flanked by Ruby who had just got her boots in time and Chloe. Kerry went into midfield joined by Mads and captain Jasmine. With Bethan playing wide right and Christie on the left. Casey took up the lone striking role. Denham were straight onto us and scored two quick goals giving Ellie little chance, they were a big threat especially with dangerous crosses from the left that often evaded every one!. Christie came off feeling sick and was replaced by Abs and Sophie came on for Bethan. Ellie was making some great saves coming off her line to deny the Denham strikers. Shortly before half time a free kick was awarded outside the Denham penalty area. Tamsin now having moved out of defence smashed the ball directly into the net, for her first goal of the season. However another goal from Denham gave them back their two goal lead coming into half time.

A number of changes were made, and we started well with Carmen moving up front, chasing down and scoring to make it 3-2. This gave us great hope but again Denham came back at us and scored with a great shot to make it 4-2. The game was opening up and most of the girls were getting tired on the big pitch a number of subs were made for various injuries. Carmen was a constant threat and finally got her reward with another good strike to make it 4-3. Beth , Tamsin and Carmen all had chances to close the gap but it was Denham who finished stronger claiming two goals to give them a flattering 6-3 final result.

We continue to show improvement as we adjust to this league, Denham are a good side and we were able to compete on level terms for much of the match. There were some excellent performances and the balance of the team is coming on, with some hard work in training the results will come for us. Player of the match goes to Jazz who as always, showed plenty of passion and commitment, running and supporting others.
