Match Report

Todays match against Enfield, last seasons champions was never going to be easy and so it proved to be.

A good solid start from the Belles with Ellie starting her first match for us behind a defence of Carmen Chloe Ruby and Kerry. Enfield's twin strike force were a big threat and we managed to contain them for the first ten minutes. When a long range shot rebounded into the path of the striker. Maddy was again working her socks off and Jass and Casey had a real battle in midfield. Ellie was proving a real star in goal making some fantastic saves, her kicking was also a real plus. Another shot from Enfield and Ellie dived full stretch to save but could not gather up quickly for another close range goal. Abs and Soph were showing great determination and Beth found it tough being a lone striker being restricted to one chance that was well saved. Christie came on to give some biting tackles, but Enfield were coming on strong and scored again. Siobhan came in to right back positon, and Darren climbed a tree to retrieve the ball!! At half time there were alot of tired legs and red faces!

We made a few changes putting Carmen up front with Casey and Beth into Midfield. The game continued as before with Enfield pressing hard and Ellie making great clearances and saves. Enfield finished the game off they were more hungary for the ball, the strikers always following up and getting to the ball before our defence.Yvette and Siobhan came on and as Enfield changed their formation we began to enjoy more possesion. Casey was showing alot of fight and Carmen had a few chances and we forced some corners.

It is important that we pick ourselves up from this, we will not meet Enfield every week and there were some real positives, one of which was Ellie who was player of the match.
