Both teams have found it tough going in the top division so this was eagerly anticipated as an even match. We have always had good close games with Stevenage and this was no exception.

Thanks to Abs, who came back to help out at the last minute to make up our final 11. I chose an attack minded formation of 4-3-3 releasing Tamsin up front from her defensive duties. Each player was told what was expected of their position. Typically we conceded yet another early goal and shortly after Stevenage grabbed a soft second. There was a bit of a reshuffle and Abs came out of defence. Ruby Carmen and Chloe were making some great tackles and Bethany kept us in the match with numerous saves. I feared the worst but we dug in and we began to force more into the game. Jasmine Mads and Kerry were making the linking passes to Soph and Bethan and Tamsin looked sure to score against a nervy Stevenage defence. Tamsin got her first from close range and we finished the half 2 - 1 down. All to play for.

Kerry went into goal with Bethany taking her place in midfield. The match was getting exciting as chances fell at both ends but it was Stevenage who scored first, a well taken goal. I then decided to take Carmen out of defence to play wide left and Beth took her place as sweeper. This had an imeadiate effect Carmen showed great desire and skill and was working well with Tamsin. Tamsin scored again and the whole team lifted. Kerry made vital saves and the defence held firm. Jas was every where, working her socks off and it was her pass that gave Tamsin her hatrick to level the scores. There was a last minute scare as a Stevenage striker closed in on goal but Kerry came out to prevent what would have been a cruel blow.

So honours even and a fair result on the day. A good team performance, so no player of the match , you ALL deserved it, a job well done.
