A beautiful, warm autumn day provided the back drop for the U10s most emphatic win yet, a 7-0 win against Watford.

Watford won the toss and chose ends so The Belles had kick off. The girls were on the attack straight away and came close to scoring in the second minute when a fierce drive from Sadie ,whizzed wide of the post. The Belles didnít have to wait much longer for their first goal as Emily put them 1-0 up after 6 mins, with a nicely taken shot. The girls continued to press forward and the Belles midfield had complete control of the game, and the defence didnít allow Watford a shot on goal.Emily then missed a chance to double Hitchins and her own tally, as she also put wide when put through by Jess. Shots rained on the Watford goal but it was 15 mins before Sadie managed to hit the back of the net for her first goal of the day, a nice left foot shot from the edge of the area, to make it 2-0.Thatís how it stayed up to half time.

Half time 0-2

Hitchins third goal came in the 22nd minute again from Sadies left foot, after a good strong run from her up the middle of the park. Three minutes later Emily did manage to score her second after running on to a loose ball in the Watford area. The goal of the game, came in the 29th minute, after a quick long throw from Sasa found Sadie 20 yards out near the touchline, she didnít hesitate and hit it with a sweet half volley straight in to the back of the Watford net to make it 5-0. Hitchin were in complete control and Tanya even came out of goal with Nicole taking over between the sticks. An excellent move ,starting from Tanya in defence, culminated in Ciara scoring her first goal for the club and making it six, in the 36th minute. Watford then had their only shot on target during the whole game, but Nicole easily saved from the Watford striker. Hitchins seventh came two minutes from time , with, guess who? , yep Sadie popping up for her fourth goal of the game with a simple tap in after Ursulas determination in the middle of the pitch ,won the ball back for Hitchin. To be honest the girls could have been in double figures if it hadnít been for some wayward shots and a couple of good stops from the Watford goalie. On a very warm day ALL the girls deserve a special mention as each and everyone of them worked their socks off until the final whistle went.
