Having beaten every team in the league and having a strong squad today I was hopeful for a result against champions Stevenage. It was hot and the players from both teams worked hard from the start. Having the advantage of the slope we made most of the early pressure. We had numerous chances. Bethan finaly lost her marker to fire home and give us a deserved lead, Sophie and Tamsin both went close. Stevenage however are well organised and quick on the break, and equalised with a looping shot high into the goal and took the lead just before half time with a quickly taken shot.

I felt we were unlucky to be down at half time having had many good spells. A bit of reorganization and the second half Stevenage dominated more and took an early goal. Casey who had a great run on goal firing a low shot for the keeper to save was unlucky. Then after a corner and a goalmouth scramble Carmen fired home to make it 2-3. The heat was taking its toll and the game stopped for players to drink!

Stevenage got two more goals but we still had chances and should feel proud of our performance.

Sophie and Casey got player of the match award as they both worked hard and played without complaint in different positions. A good team performance.
