It’s been a fantastic season for our women, achieving the double – winning the Beds & Herts Premier division and the League Cup! 🙌🏆🏆

The team were solid in defence and clinical in attack, having the best records in both in the league this season, which has clearly helped the team to secure two trophies. With a mix of experienced players and Belles youth, the whole squad played their part across the season.

After a bumpy start in September, the team went on an unbeaten run in the league from October until April. Facing tough opposition along the way, they never gave up and got their rewards at the end of the season.

Performances of the season have to be the Semi-Final win against Oaklands, which saw clinical finishes and a dominating display to win 9-0. Alongside this, our 6-0 win in our final league game against Ware, where everything went right, and the players stepped up under pressure. This was the catalyst in securing the league and setting us up for a cup final against Ware. A tough battling game from both sides on a hot day in May, where both teams had opportunities, saw us come out as 2-1 winners and secure a league and cup double.

Some fantastic football, more Belles youth players stepping up into senior football, and a determined attitude from all showed in a successful season on the pitch. We look forward to a well-deserved break and hope to keep the momentum going into the new season.

Managers Kelly and Nicolle said, “We are beyond proud of the team. They have exceeded expectations at the start of the season and grown in confidence across the months. Players stepped up, playing different positions and new roles, but every member of the squad played their part. The club have been fantastic with their support and development of players to help us achieve the double this season. We look forward to more success with this great club and players.”

Club Chair, Simon White, said, “What a team! A real credit to the club with the way they play football and carry themselves, true icons for our youth players to look up to. It’s also been an unreal job from the coaching team to go from a complete team rebuild at the end of last season, to winning the double just a year later!!” 🏆 🏆
